The new Commander-in-Chief on the Australian Station, Admiral Iving-Hall, speaking at a Mayoral banquet, characterised Admiral Sir Reginald Henderson's report as'a- well-thought-out plan, which he was perfectly certain would be brought to a satisfactory conclusion if adopted. He believed'the fiunnces of the Commonwealth would be ablo to stand the stress of creating a navy. THE DEFECTIVE DESTROYERS. Melbourne, March 27. Tho Federal Government is appointing a board of experts to inquire into the defccts in the steering engines of the destroyers.
