WELLINGTON SHARE MARKET. Waihis were decidedly firmer yesterday, sales beins made up to 655. 6d. The Eneli&h mail rcached Auckland on Sunday, and it is surmised that, yesterday morning, brokers found that very few shares arrived from London. The "Fhorts," who arc being pressed to make deliveries, were obliged to come into the market and make purchases. So far as can be ascertained there arc no mi no developments to account for the rise in the value of the shares. There was comparatively little business done yesterday.-the sales recorded being as under:— Talisman, 495. 9d. (second call); 495. 6d. (third call). Waihi, 655. 6d. (first call); 665. 6d.
