—# —. —_ PHOTOGRAPHING THE YACHTS. , Those who were fortunate enough to bfl in tho vicinity of the Boat Harbour yesterday morning had the opportunity of witnessing a pretty sight indeed. "The water in and about the wharves was just a mass of white-winged craft, and here and there launches wore darling about. The yachts were so close in one place that a dinghy which was being towed by a small sailing boat, had its connection with the latter severed by a yacht coming'in between the two. Stationed on the Clyde Quay Wharf was the operator of the King s Theatre, and his kinematograph, and, as «oon as a flag was lowered he began to turn, the handle, and photograph, the fleet. , Afterwards he went on board tho launch Taniwha, and took a picture of the Viking, winner Of the Ocean Race, and.also one of the Whlbi Heather. In the coursoof a few weeka sohnj other pictures of the yachts will be taken, and they will then bG screened at the , theatre mentioned. -:}■■ INTER-CLUB CUP. The race for tho Inter-Club Challenge Cup, v between the Tβ Arq Sailing Club and tho Heretaunga Boating Club, waa •held under perfect weather conditions on Saturday afternoon. All the boats got away with a. nice southerly breeze, and finished with a light northerly. The race was won by Kaitare, with Nan second, and Redwing third, all these boats belonging to the Te Aro Club. Nan held the lead until the, Oriental Bay buoy' was reached, but, on the way to Jerningham buoy, she was overhauled by Kaitare. Later, Nan took first positon again, but, near the finishing line, Bhe was overtaken by Kaitare, the latter winning by 4sec. LAUNCH RACE. A launch face was got off On Saturday, under the auspices of tho Port Nicholson Motor.Boat Club, and was won by Scotia, with Tender second, and Manutai third. The starring times of the launches were: Tender, 3 p.m.; Maui, 3.9$ p.m.; Manutai, 3.17J P.""-! Puriri, 3.26J p.mi; Scotia, 3.281 P.m.; and Ibex, 3.201 p.m.. : PORT NICHOLSON CLUB. ' Owing to tho wind dropping, the Port Nicholson Yacht Club's races were postponed. • The yachts had good starts, but when in tho vicinity of Somes Island the wind left them.
