ME, MASSEY'S TOUR SOUTH. (By Telegraph.— Vre.se Association.) Christchurch, March 50. Mr. Mnssey addressed, a meeting at Hawarden on Friday night, on similar lines to. his speech at Kaiapoi, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Last night ho addressed a largely-attended meeting at Amberley. Referring to the Department of Agriculture, he said that the results from experiment farms so far were incommensurate with the expenditure thereon, and less than farmers had a right to expect. This was especially the case in view of such expenditure in other countries, whoso products competed with New Zealand's. Farmers in 6\ich countries receivod much more information regarding modern methods in agriculture, and it was time that the hew Zealand farmer was brought up to date in this.respect. Mr. Masscj- was accorded a unnnimoue vote of thanks. He speaks at Rangiora to-morrow night.
