Y.M.C.A. BOYS' DEPARTMENT.
During the past week matters have been active in tho boys' department of the 1.M.C.A.. On Tuesday about one hundred lads were present, and quoits, table tennis, bagatelle, and shooting were features of the evening. A number of visitors, amongst whom was Major-Goneral Godley, passed through on a tour of inspection; and all seemed pleased with what they saw. On Friday evening about 95 lads attended a meeting, at which full announcements were made regarding the camp and the membership campaign. The object of the campaign is to enrol ono hundred now boys in one month, and teams have been picked to compete against each other. After the meeting a social gathering, was held, at which several short speeches were made. Afterwards the members of the junior cricket team received their medals for winning the championship in their grade of the Boys' I/eague. Successful members of the swimming club also received trophies, Henderson taking the bulk of the prizes.
