ATTITUDE OF THE DOMINIONS. By TeleEraph—Press Association—Oopyrieht London, March 22. In the House of Commons, the Prime Minister, Mr. Asquith, in reply to a question by Mr. W. L. A. Burdett-Coutts, Unionist member for Westminster, eaiil the fact thut no formal proposals bad been received from President Tuft in regard to an unlimited arbitration treaty did not. necessarily preclude discussion of the principle at the coming Imperial Conference. Mr. Asquith added that the usual channels of consultation with the Dominions were always open and nvailablo to the extent thai any proposals required. ME. TAFT SOUNDS FRANCE. New York, March 2J. Mr. Taft is unofficially consulting the French Ambassidor at Washington (M. Jusserand) with a view to an arbitration tToaty between France and America. Ho awaits a disclosure of the Senate's attitude before acting officially in the matter. AUSTRALIAN SUPPORT. (Rec. March 21, 1.5 a.m.) Sydnoy, March 24. The Prime Minister, Mr. Fisher, regards with great favour the proposed arbitration treaty between Great Britain and America. Ho was prepared also to go much further. Tile treaty lias not only the Australian Government's moral, but distinctly our positive, support. Anything the Government could do to spread a belief in international arbitration it would do, A BAPTIST RESOLUTION. (Rec. March 23, 10.30 p.m.) London, March 23. The Council of the Baptist Union has adopted a resolution thanking God for Mr. Taft's overtures and Sir Edward Grey's response.
