Mr. Clifford Sifton, an ex-Minister in tho Laurier Cabinet and a leading Canadian public man, was driving to an antireciprocity demonstration at Montreal when he was attacked by students of M'Gill University College. The students blocked his way, and overturned and burned his carriage. Mr. Sifton, who was uninjured, was compelled to walk the remainder of the journey. The police have made many arrests. The disturbance is not regarded as political.
