"THE BITTER END."

WORKERS' TRAM TICKETS. Tho Mayor was asked last evening at the City Council by Councillor Hindmarsh if ho would say what was the position in regard to workers' tickets for the trams. Years ago they had passed a resolution. The Mayor replied that; tho necessary order had been lost in tho maze of its peregrinations through the various Government Departments. It was now on its way to the last functionary who was to deal with it, viz., the Solicitor-General. "It might hove to be referred to another Department!" suggested a facetious councillor. "No, that is the bitter end," replied the Mayor.
