To-day the Hon. J. Carroll (ActingPrimp Minister) will bo en route to 'Wellington from New Plymouth, the Hon. G. Fowlds is in the south, the Hon. T. jr.ickenzie in Dunedin, the Hon. It. M'Kenzie on the East Coast, the Hon. .1. A. Millnr in Wellington, the Hon. D. Biuldo in 'Wellington, ami the Hon. A. T. Njala on the' Earf Coast. It is expected that the Hon. ,T. Carroll will return to Wellington from New Plymouth to-night. Mr. .T. Christie, LL.B., of the Crown Law Office, was admitted as a barrister and solicitor yesterday by the Chief Justice (Sir Robert Stout) on the application of Mr. 11. 11. The Hospital Board yesterday accepted with regret the resignations of Dr. S. .T. Simpson, senior house surgeon, and Nurses A. Holmwood, F. Jv. Simpson, and C. D. Jenkins. Mr. J,on. M'Kenzie, Hip well-known Manners .Street pharmacist, will probably lie a candidate for municipal honours next month. Dr. Pnmaro is mentioned as a likely candidate for the Western Maori electorate next election (states a Press Association telegram from New Plymouth). The Hospital Board yesterday granted leave of absence to Dr. Agnes Bennett (lady practitioner), to enable her to visit Europe. Dr. D. Platts-Mills was appointed honorary lady practitioner to the Children's Hospital during the absence of Dr. Bennett. Dr. H. D. Robertson has been appointed junior house surgeon at the Wellington Hospital. Dr. Boytl, of Willis Street, Wellington, has been appointed superintendent of the Taihape Hospital, and will take up duty in the course of a few weeks. For the extraordinary vacancy in tho office of councillor for the Borough of Miramar, three nominations have been received as follow :-Mr. John M'Cale, nominated by Messrs. G. Collett Reynolds and irederic Townsend; Mr. Hector Norman M'Leod, nominated by Messrs. Jamce Watkin Hall, James Charles Williamson, and David K. Blair; and Mr. Stanley Mercer Stone, nominated by Messrs. Edward Bertram Walker, George Albert Marsh, Richard 0. Petersen, and William Hoyland. The salary of Miss Kirk, charitable, aid visitor to the Hospital Board, has been increased by XSO per annum.
