Tile whole of tin' entrants showed an expert knowledge of the art, their ns-c? of the breast and back stroke- licinK excellent. The swimming of Miss (.Hive King was particularly good. Each of (he girls in turn towed her drowning subject along in capital style, in one ease llic "subject" being three-stone heavier than the "tug." The whole of the candidates appeared to stand tho cold water nnieh better than the men, and each went through tho full test in the one evening. In some respects the test was mora difficult than that set liv the Humane Society, in that the water was a couple of feet deeper than prescribed in the regulations. The work of the ladies was infinitely better than that shown by the boys;, and, taken alt round, was superior, to flint shown by the men. BOWLS. CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS TOURNEY. For the first time in Wellington a chnmpion of chamnions singles tourney took place on the Wellington Bowling Club 3 green. : It consisted of a suddendeath play-off .-between the winners of the senior, singles.in each,club owing allegiance to the Wellington Bowling Centre. Considerable interest was manifested in the games. At 1 p.m. the champions were entertained at lunch by Mr. I'. W. liaybittle. Tho following 'are. the results:— First Round. ' Prince (Newtown) beat. Frost (Wellington), 25—12. Prince scored 11 before Frost thawed a point. Cooper (Karori), playing in place of Magnus, who was indisposed, beat Hollard (Hutt), 17-16. A well-contested game. \ Wcarno (Petone) beat J. A. Plimmer (Khandnllah, 27—J3. Sloane (Johnsouville) beat Mitchell (Hataitai), .28-13. ..',.'.. Second Round. ■'.'Mayer (Victoria)' beat" Wearne (Petone), 29—9. An easy win. ' Prince (Newtown) beat Cohen (Thorndon), substitute for Kilgour, who was indisposed, 19—12. Sloane (Johnsonvifle) beat Routley (Kelburne), 17-16. Parata (Te Hiwi') beat Cooper (Karori), 17—1 G. Third Round.' Mayer (Victoria) beat Trince (Neirtown), 25—12. Sloane (Johnsonville) beat Parata (Te Hiwi), 17-11. Final. ■ T. Mayer (Victoria) beat Dunbar Sloane (.Tohnsonyille), 17—11. Tho game was well contested throughout, and at its conclusion the Victoria champion of champions was duly acclaimed. .. JUNIOR. PENNANTS. ■ Kelburne: Scott, Kirk, Wake'lin, M'Call (s), 25.
