The dray was about two miles from Mokuu when the team bolted. Davidson galloped ahead with a view to stopping the loam. After getting ahead, and whiln j a the act ol alighting close to a telegraph pole, he collided with the drav, and was crushed to death between the' dray and the pole. The telegraph pole was split in two.
