LIFE SAVING. MEDALLIONS AND PROFICIENCY CERTIFICATES. The Wellington Branch of the Royal Life Saving Society held a series of tests at To Aro Baths on Saturday afternoon, the proceedings being conducted by Mr. G. T. M'Kellar, local examiner for the society. There, were 10 entrants for the medallion, and eight of these qualified, whilst one has.still to finisji his theory. One of the successful competitors, F. J. M'Carlie, of the Te Aro School, AV. Redmond of St. Patrick's College was second, and T. Turnbull, AVellington College, was third; time, 14 l-sscc. Second distance, 50 yards: A. M'Carlie, 1; E. Clarke (St. Patrick's College), 2; T. Turnbull, 3; time, 31 l-ssec. Third distance, 75 yards: A. M'Carlie, 1; E. Clarke, 2; T. Turnbull, 3; time, Sosec. Fourth distance, 100 yards: A.
