ANNIVERSARY SERVICES.

The sixty-third anniversary uf the Sydney Street Primitive .Methodist Sunday School wns successfully celebrated yesterday, when the church was very tastefully decorated for the occasion'. There were good congregations throughout the day, especially in the evening, when there was a very largo attendance. Tho morning and afternoon services were conducted by the Kcv. .). Guy, of New Plymouth, in tho morning the preacher based his remarks on "Sutler '.lie littlo children," whilst at the latter service many valuable lessons were drawn from tho childhood of .lesus. In the evening the Rev. V. J. Cossum delivered an appropriate discourse with particular reference to young people on "Life, with its possibilities, its opportunities, and its clangers; and the recognition of God." A feature of the services was the splendid singing of the scholars and choir, who rendered special choruses in a capital manner tinder the able conductor-shin of Mr. Ernest Dawson. During the day an notion song and recitations were given by the scholars, and solos were contributed by Miss Gladys Currie and Mr. Newton. Miss Jean Nicholas and Miss Gillospio presided at tho organ and. piano respectively. The celebrations will be continued on Wednesday evening, when tho annual tea meeting and entertainment will,he held. Yesterday the Brooklyn Baptist Sunday School celebrated its twenty-seventh anniversary. Sermons were preached morning, afternoon, and evening by the Rev. J. K. Archer, of Napier. There were good congregations in the morning and afternoon, and in the evening the church was packed. The special feature of the anniversary was the singing of the children, who had been trained by the Rev. A. Dcwdney.' and who acquitted themselves splendidly. Miss Teychcnne - presided at-the piano, and Miss Beavis at the organ. The anniversary .will, conclude by a tea ». to* be held on Tuesday, evening. ' '■
