During 1910 the total Governmentassisted emigrants to Australia numbered 12.301, and nominated 850", comprising 9337 men, 6202 women, and 5272 children. The emigrants were distributed as follow ;— Queensland 6,916 New South Wales 5,272 West Australia 5,023 Victoria 3,000 IMMORALITY ON SHIPBOARD. Sydney, March 9. The Methodist Conference discussed tho question of tho immoral temptations to which female immigrants were subjected during the voyage out from Great Britain. Speakers advocated tho employment of a higher type of matron. The matter will be placed in the hands of the Methodist Mission.
