ARE THEY OVERCROWDED? Dr. Cameron lolil Hie City Council last night that ho had seen tramway systems in many cities but had never >-oon more overcrowding than on the Wellington cars, ito had counted seven people standiii" in nearly every compartment of a car-somo ol them standing on I lie footboard. Ho invited the council to think of the bill lor compensation in case one of the cars so overloaded ran away on one of (lie inclinos, and lis spoke of the danger of the spread of infectious diseases through this cause as a very real one. The' Mayor said ho could show Dr. Cameron a photo, graph of a tramcar in Sydney with ISO people on l!ie top, and people riding on Iho trolly polo and even holding to tho wires.
