Ruiuii. who is bring transferred lo Groymouth. Mr. J. Valentine (loading fitter) voiced the sentiments of those present, and paid a tribute to Mr. Ronai's qualities as a man and a worker. In askin,; his arceptiiicj of a handsome travelling rug, ho wished Mr. Renai every success in his new sphere. A poll will be taken at Lower Hntt today to decide whctlirr rntenayers are in favour of raisine .CIO.OOU to complete the borough sewerage and surface drainage works. A first offender for drunkennrss was brought before Mr. J. W. M'Ewan, J.P.. at Petone, yesterday. He was convicted and discharged.
