WORKING MEN'S CLUB.

A PRESENTATION. There was a large attendance of the membersof tho'Working Men's Club in the social hall of the club on Saturday evening, the occasion being a presentation of a travelling-bag and walking-stick to Mr. Thns. Cavniichael, who for the last four years has been an energetic and hardworking president, The presentation wa.s made by the Ireasurer. Sir. Kalnh AVilliams, who assured Mr. Carmichael of the Rood wishes of his fellow-members as to his future career in Auckland, for which place ho leaves to-day. Mr. Carmichael feelingly replied, thanking the members for their handsome present. The club's annual picnic took placo at Day's Bay on Saturday. About 1200 were present, and the outing was a very successful one.
