A CORONATION GIFT TO THE KING. Most peoplo will remember the unearthing of the largest nugget of gold ever found in New Zealaud. It was discovered in 1909 in some loose earth jvhicli had been turned over in • the - early diggings by two miners named Sharp and Scott in an old alluvial working oil the banks of Donnelly's Creek, at Ross, on the West Coast. The nugget, which weighed 99ozs. 12d\vt., was sold by its finders for ..£IOO, and was christened the "Hon. Roddy" in honour of the Minister for Mines, the Hon. Roderick M'Kenzie. After its first sale tho nugget was exhibited all round the Dominion, and was finally raffled in aid of the funds of the district hospital. Now, it is learned, the "Hon. Roddy" has been bought from the bank by the Government for a sum between vEIOO and ,£420 for presentation to King George V by Sir Joseph Ward as a Coronation gift from New Zealand,
