Mr. Griffith, Minister for Public Works, has had' a Wages Board appointed to consider' tho demands of tho MorecMungindi railway workers for higher wages. If the. men persist in striking,he will drop the work, which is being carried out by day labour, and use tho money elsewhere. THE MELBOURNE DISPUTE. Melbourne, February 28. A settlement of the agricultural imple-ment-makers' dispute by a conference is regarded as out of the question. Tho strikers regret that the effort of Mr. Wisher (Federal Prime Minister) to bring the parties together proved unsuccessful, but decided that in tho event of the State- Premier (Mr. Murray) offering to mediate his services will bo declined. The Premier will be asked to nationalise tho industry.
Mr. Fisher has contributed ,£lO to the men's funds.
