WELLINGTON LAND BOARD

MONTHLY MEETING. An ordinary meeting of the Wellington Land Board .was .held yesterday. Those present were: The Commissioner,' Mr. J.' -Mackenzie, • Messrs. J. Dawson, 11. T. Ellinghatti, J. Georgetti, and W. M'Lenna'n. TRANSFERS. Transfers grafted were: Sections, 8 and 9, Mock XI, Makuri, E. F. Jennings to J. Champion; Section 10,-Pongaroa V.S., H. C. Clark to J. W. Carter; C. J.-Tollett, Section- : 4, Block IX, Hautapu, to J. 0. Greer; C!. W. Ritchie, Section 55! Ohakuno V.S., to P. J. Dunne (recommended). Conditional transfers were granted .in the-following cases:—A." W., M. L., and K. A.'Grav to A. W., M. L., and A. H. Gray, of Section 3, Block I, Hantapu; i': If. Drake .to T., W. Field," Section- 59, Block VI, Horowhenua V.S. ; . Transfers iii the hands of the Commissioner wore as follow:—Mrs. M. Weitzel to Mrs. S. A. Parkinson, Section 45,' Horowenua V.S. OTHER MATTERS. Mr. .A.-Lyon, solicitor, Mart on, wrote asking the board-to : withdraw its consent to tho transfer from G.- H. C. Jurgens to J. S. Welsh, of Section 1, .Block 7, Makatuku.—lt was resolved. to leave the matter with tho Commissioner. , ' Messrs. Meldruni and Maclean wrote with reference to n sub-loase of Section 30, Block XV, Hautapu, from Mr. W. W. Mitchell to Mr. Poole, and asked that the board's consent for a term 'of 21 years be varied to a shorter term'of 14 years, with , a right of. renewal for rjnother 11 years, making 28 3-ears in all. —It'was resolved to approve the request. The-Public Trustee applied for permission to subdivide Section 50; Onakune ' .S., 4 acres 3 roods 28 perches, into -nine lots and transfer tho various subdivisions later on.—Provisionally, approved. The City Council forwarded a plan showing a survey of a pieco of land it proposed to take out of Section 77, Wadestown, for road purposes. Necessary consent to the taking without compensation was given. It was resolved that the reservation for forest purposes of Section 133, Block. Ill; Mangaliao, having been removed, to approvo of this land being offered for cash by public auction as land of special value owing to its superior quality. "The upset price is J2O per acre. , ..; It was resolved to amend the resolution passed on November 24, 1910, by granting Jlr. C. Beaumont a lease of Section 1, Block IV, JCaitieke, for a term of 21 years (instead of seven years), under Section 307 of the Land Act, 1908, as a site for a boardinghouse. ' ■ Mrs. Mima Sniythe, the lessee of Sections 2, 3, and fi, -Blocks VII' and VIII, Waipakura, applied for a lease of a small lot in Petaagi Village. It was resolved that as a homestead sito. had been specially cut out and included in her holding the board could .not see its way to grant her\a lease, but was prepared to issue a permit to occupy one of tho small lots- in this village temuorarily, subject to determination at any, time... A report was received from the Crown Lands Ranger" to tho cffect that Mr. H. E. Hill, lessee of Section 31, Block IX, Mount Cerberus, Pongaroa V.S., reside on tho adjoining section with his'niotlier and brother-in-law, and it was resolved to accept this as satisfactory in the meantime. '• - • A favourablo report having been received from tha ranger, it was resolved that Mr. Francis M. Bradley ,bo permitted to dedicate an area.of 1 acre 3 roods 33 perches; being part of Section 2, Block X, Maungakaretn,-for-road-purposes. ; It was resolved to decfiue the transfer from E; C. Allen, of Section 2 and".' 3j. Block XIII, Ngomatea, to F. Robinson, on account of family aggregations of area. Mr.- Sommerville, solicitor, .attended with reference to the forfeiture of his mother's Section 13, Block 111, Ivaitieke, and asked that the matter be. held over . for a fortnight longer, as he had - three probable, transfers in ■ view.—Resolved that the final forfeiture be ; held over, for 14 days, "and then if the consideration money was paid over to the receiver, with the present half-year's rental, tha for-, fciture could, bo rescinded by .tho "Commissioner. , - Jfr.
