' It was resolved to forward a letter of condolenco to Mrs. Lyon and family sympathising with thorn on their recent bereavement,'and tho secretary was directed to refer to the good relations that-existed between the.-late Mr. Lyon and the. union when ho was a member of the printing firm formerly known as Lyon and Blair. Tho election of officers resulted as follows President, Mr. G. C. Barker (elected unopposed); vice-president, Hr. James Harper; seCretary-trcasiirer, Mr. J. W. F. M'Dougall; trustees (general fuiitl); Messrs. T. M'lntyro and D. Eyrie (elected unopposed); trustees (mortality fund), Messrs. Walter C. Millar and Sutherland (re-elected unopposed); auditors, Messrs. F. R. Curtis, and G..W. Thirkeli (re-elected ■ unopposed); board members (three),. Messrs. T. Lomas, F. W. Swift, and H. R. van Borssmn. The following were elected the union's .representatives on the committee of management of'tho "Weekly Herald" Publishing Society:— Messrs. .T. W. F. M'Dougall, G. J. Sellars, A. D. Robbie, E. Jones, and T. M. Murphy. Votes of thanks were passed to the various officers of tho union for services rendered during the past year, who returned thanks.
