A shipment of about 300 cases of William Boncretian pears canto on to the Wellington market from Australia during.the week. The bulk wero landed in. good condition,- and sold at from ■lis. to Iss. a case.
; The Moeraki, from' Sydney, brought a small'consignment of",pines, passions, Melbourne pears,',and;.a large quantity of water-melons.;, , Pines brought 6s.'.'to 75.-,' passions -; ; 2s,:'to,-3s'.' per' half-caso,. and' water-melons sixpence to. 25., according ;to size. -.-.■■ ,-,-,■ „ .•large blue, diamond 'plums' sold, on tbo'ymarkct yesterday at from 2s. to 2s'. 6d., and .smaller .sorts ls.'Gd. to 2s. per half-case. - Cucumbers brought. 2s. to 25:;6d., nectarines (choice) 4s. to 55., and .raspberries .(good■" demand) 6s. to 75., greengages 4s. 6d. to ss. per halfcase,. Cape gooseborrios 4d. per lb. -There is; a plentiful supply of grapes. Extra choice samples were'sold yester\day. at'from 9d.'(to lOil.per lb. Most of them were grown: in Auckland arid Nelson, and -at Lower Hutt. ..Still a few strawberries are coming in from the .Wellington district. They sold yesterday at Is. to Is. Gd.
