■FIRE AT KORO KORO. (From Our Special Correspondent.) Early yesterday morning' a firo broke out in two unoccupied six-roomed dwellings at Koro Koro Settlement. The dwellings wcro the property of Mr. G. Jbues, of Pctonc, and were insured in tho Guardian office for £300 each. The houses (which wero totally destroyed) wcro only two years old. The origin of tho tiro is unknown, but a young man passing along tho road about 11.30 states that he saw a light in one of the windows at that time. .Mr. Forsyth,-, who is a near neighbour, had difficulty in saving his house, as there is no highpressure water supply at Koro Koro, and .the only way of fighting the flames was with a bucket service.

At tho Petono Police Court yesterday morning, before Messrs. 11. Slothes and It. J. Southgatc, J.P/s, G. Jl'Keuziej charged with using improper language, was fined £2, in default seven days' imprisonment.
