.A letter was received from tho.Cooks', and Waiters' Union in reply, to a com; mvmication from the Director suggesting the establishment of a class ior professional cooks at tho Technical School. Tho union, while approving the principle ombodied in tho proposal,. stated that it was unablo' to grant any financial assistance towards, tho establishment of the class.

"It is-quite evident they want .-all they can get for nothing, but they are not going to help much," commented the chairman., Tho letter was received.

The resignation of-.Mr. 0. A. Lawrence who has been instructor of classes in building construction and architecture during the past eleven years, was accepted with regret. The question of appointing an instructor to succeed Mr. Lawroiico was deferred pending a further report from the director. Mr. La TTobo stated that tho classes in budding construction and architecture wcro not very -big at present, tho building trado being dull.
