The New Zealand University Senate this morning agreed that candidates for the Bachelor of Arts degree be permitted to take Hebrew as a repeat subject, The definition of the work for examination is to be revised to bring Hebrew into line with Greek and Latin. A committee was' set up to consider moans of encouraging the study of his-' tory, and to confer with teachers in colleges and secondary schools on the . subject. ' It was agreed to apply to tho London University for recognition of the matriculation examination of tho Now Zealand University; also to write to the commissioners' of tho 1851 Exhibition to offer their Science Scholarship annuaUj.
