PROPOSED-IMPROVEMENTS. At the next meeting of the Makara County Council Councillor F. T. Moore will move:— (1) That plans and estimates be prepared showing the cost of widen--ing and replacing in concrete the old- . timber'bridges and half bridges on that portion of the Ngahauranga Gorge Road between the Hutt Koad and the Raroa Estate. (2) That a special rating area, com- ■ prising the properties fronting this length of i-oad, be defined, and tho owners of such properties invited to sign a petition enabling tho Makara County Council to raise the money required to carry out this work, and that the Government be asked to subsidise the cost of improving this important arterial thoroughfare.
