Hawko's- Bay Metropolitan Committee reversing the decision of that club in awarding the stakes for the Dannevirko Handicap, rim 011 November 16, 1910, to tho maro Vi, the judges are of opinion that thero were no extraordinary circumstances under Rule 13, Part 24, justifying the jockey of Vi from weighing in short of weight, and they therefore dismiss tho appeal. The Wellington Racing Club's meeting .will bo concluded at Trontliam today, when tho principal event to bo decidcd is the Summer Handicap, ono mile. A dozen horses have paid up for this event and tho fields generally promise to bo above, tho average tor a third day. At the'Aspendalo Park (Vic.) on January 14, Trugatiini started a hot favourite in tho Summer Cup, one milo and a quarter,- and finished a dead heat for ■ first. Another New Zealand-bred mare, Celerity, started favourite in tho Aspendalo Plato and duly won.

Mr. R. A. M'Donald's Boronia, who ran second to lady Doris in the Telephono Hack Handicap at Foxton on Monday, is only a pony, and won the pony race ■ at the ■ last Horowhenua Show.
