Genial and very-much' to the point' was the address given recently by the Rev. E.- 0. Blamires to the Y.M.C.A Boys Division. It was the first meeting for 1911. Mr. Blamires began by congratulating the. boys on their successes on the, cricket field, 'and then state that cricket was very much like life, and ho told his'hearers W play the game' of life with all their heart and_ strength—not only the physical and intellectual parts of life but .the spiritual part, which, though looked on by many as of little moment, was the most important of all. The speaker s illustrations of his subject, mainly drawn from the game Of cricket, were apt and striking. - After-the meeting a group of , boys met and formed a swimming club. The first "nieet" will tako place- to-day at To Aro Baths, at 5 p.m. .During the season .'races and other 1 competitions will be held. Tho following were elected as officers:—Leader, Roy Coad; committee, D. terry, Oscar Smith, G. Gray. To teach swimming is. to bo one of the main objects of the club.
