The French Jitdgo of the New Hebrides Condominium Court, denies that tho increased sale of liquor in tho islands is duo to laxity or favouritism on his part. The sale of alcohol and weapons to tho natives will, says his Honour, ceaso only when tho Joint Court has tho moans of visiting all tho islands with facility. He hoped tho French and British Governments would come to an arrangement to supply tho Court with a special vessel to make frequent circuits. ■' ENGLISH JUDGE RETICENT. COMPILING RULES OF PRO- , CEDURE. (Rec. January 24, 9.20 p.m.) Sydney, January 24. Judge Roseby, tho English Judge 011 the Condominium Court in the New Hebrides, is visiting Sydney. He states (that the Court is not yet.in thorough working order. The Judges liavo been engaged in compiling ruses of procedure. These have just been completed and will be a contribution of importance in the domain, of- comparative law. Owing to his judicial position, he was unable to say anything'regarding tho recent statements by th» missionaries.
