A meeting of the.., Jfiramar ■ Borougji Council was held' last night. .There wore present:. Messrs. J. Brodie (Mayor), H. N. M'Leod, Bowie, Richards, and M'Clelland. . The question of providing,extra t.ramcars on busy days was discussed at length in conlmittee. it :beiiig.-decided' ove'ntually. to. leave the matter to the discretion of ■ the City Engineer. ■ A' letter, was received ;from' Mrs.. Holmes in' reference to the Siatoun .tram serrice lirid the 'collection ■of tlio fee of 2s. 6d. for running the car .beyond- the Miramar Junction. The writer complained- that she had recently, paid tlie. extra fee, but though' a number (if other passengers travelled over the final section and paid their, fares, she received' no refund of any portioii 'of the 2s. Cd. The letter was referred to- the Tramways'. Committee. , ■ The Wellington.City Council asked that a' delegate be appointed to represent tho boMugh-on January 25 at tho Town HalU at the conference'which is to-arrange the weekly half-holiday for Wellington and suburbs for. the current year.- • It.ivas decided to. allow the.Methodist.
