Today (Tuesday), December 27, being observed as Boxing Day, the Postal Department will be open in all its branches (except the Money-order and Savings Bank Department) from 9 to 10 a.m. Mails dispatched by steamers and mails for the Auckland district per Main Trunk train will close at 9.15 a.m.; mails by trains for the Wairanpa, Taranaki, Wauganui, Eangitikci, Manawatu, and Hawke's Bay districts will close at 6.30 a.-m. Tho lettercarriers will mako one full delivery, closing at tho Chief Post Offico at 7 a.m. On Monday, January 2. thc day to be observed as a, close holiday for. New Ycar'3 Day, tho Postal Department will be closed in all.its branchsa on the abovenamed day. Mails dispatched by steamers will closo at 6.38 a.m., also mails by trains for the Wairarapa, Taranaki, Wanganui, Eangitikci, Manawatu, and Hawke's Bay . districts; also tho Auckland district, per Main Trunk train, will close at 6.30 a.m. There will not bo any clearances of the city receivers or deliveries by lettercarriers on tho above-named day. but on Saturday, December 31, there will be a full afternoon .delivery by the lettercarriers, closing at the Chief Post ODlco at 1.40 p.m. On. the above-named Saturday there will be a delivery by the letter-car-riers at the Drillshed from 8.30 to 9.30 p m • a'fo a deliverj' over the public counter at tho Chief Post Office from 8.30 to 9.30 p.m. of correspondence addressed to the Post Office only.
