CHARGES AGAINST COTJNCILLOBat (By Telegraph.-Fress Association.) , Dunedin, December 1. In the Magistrate's Court to-day, tb4 charges laid against Councillors Stewart and Shacklock,- of illegally holding seat* on tho City Council, and asking them to show cause, why they should not be caiied upon to resign their positions in the council, came before Mr. H. T. Widdowson, b.M. Counsel for informant said there was now no need to go on with the cases, the intentions of the Legislator* having been made clear. Both cases were dismissed by consent, and in the cassi of Councillor Shacklock costs, £Z 3si were allowed against informant (Joai Connor). ; ■
