Messrs. W. Perry and. John Strang, of Wairarapa, who were amongst the judges at the' Auckland A. and P: Show, came through' to 'Welliugto'n by,/ yesterday's Main Trunk express. ./Mr.: Perry judged Lihcolhs,'.mermos,'"andsTat sheep, and Mr. :Strang.i'at/cattl6/and: Shrop'shires. Speaking to a Dominion representative on these classes, tho two Wairarapa men said that were the better, and there were somo fairly good fat cattle. > Merinos were ' confined- ? to ,<one .exhibitor;. "Shorthorns were also'few*,' biit' therp. was a fine show of dairy cattle, principally from outside exhibitors.

.At the Auckland A. and P. Show the principal prizes in Eomney Marsh sheep were won by Wellington provincial exhibitors. Mr.. Tanner won both' championships,- while Mr. E. Allen, of Taratahi, secured first for hogget ram, .first and second for single hogget ewes, first, second and third for ewe hogget pairs, and reserve champion arid second for ewe any age. Mr.. Allen sold several rams, the prices ranging."from seventeen to twentysix ' guineas. /

Some- of the closer settlement farmers in eastern Riverina- are having trouble with black oats this 'year (says news, by the Australain mail).' Areas which were quite clean last season'are so dirty this that one or two farmers" say they .will probably havo to cut tho whole of their wheat for hay.
