LOYAL ORANGE INSTITUTION.

A special gathering of the Loyal Orange Institution was held last evening in the Foresters' Hall for the purpose of welcoming Brother Meredith, grandmaster for New Zealand, who has just returned from a trip round the world. The district grandmaster, Bro: Lindsay, introduced the guest of the evening in a complimentary speech. Bro. Meredith gave a. detailed account of his travels, and of the Twelfth of July celebrations at Belfast this year,' at which ho was present. He had found Orangeism flourishing in Australia and Canada. It was estimated, he said, that there wero 50,000 Orangemen in Australia and 130,000 in Canada. Oji the motion of Bro. Ashton, a hearty vote of thanks to the speaker was carried, and Bro. Petherick and several district officers also spoke. ' The rest of the evening was spent' in social intercourse, and refreshments were provided by lady members.
