AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS.
Sir, —May'l ask, througlr-.youiv'cil-' umns, if it is the intention of the. Government to have the above collected this year?, 'Last year they were not collected. New Zealand is the only'civilised country in the '.\v9rld that does not have statistics cpllepted. . Is it to be wondered' at that we are not ablo to answer the' questions: , How many, .cattle, horses, sheen, and pigs are there in the country or what number of acres are under crops of different - kinds, or the number of bushels pf wheat, oats, and barley, etc., that wo possess ? . We often see accounts of what grain and stock they have in Australia and America and other .countries, but yover what we have in ours. Thanking you in , anticipation,—l am,' etC ',' FARMER. ■' - /
