The championship Ayrshire bull shown at Palmerston North was awarded to an entry from the Porirua Mental Asylum, not to Messrs. Slack Bros.' bull, as has been stated. . ■ By the Buapelm, due on Tuesday, the following are arriving:— Now Zealand Xoan Company, Wellington, 10 sheep and 3 ponies; Hon. J. Dl Ormond, 1 ram; and Sir. J. Crawford, 1 horse, 1 bull, 1 sow, 3 dogs and 35 sheep.
'In order to improve the breed of pigs on the Cook Islands the Resident Commissioner, Captain-J. Eman Smith, requested the New Zealand Government to obtain and forward a boar and two sows of the best ■ quality of the Berkshire breed. These have been obtained by the Live-stock and Meat Division, and duly shipped. ._ Ihe, receipts to the local fund in connection with the lloyal Show at Liverpool are given as having amounted to .£6o<B. The North Island Poultry, Pigeon, '. and Canary Association decided to allot championships for the 1911 season as follows .-—Wellington, frhite and brown leghorns and minorcas; Carterton, Indian runner and Pekin ducks; New Plymouth, 'orpingtons; South Taranakii any other variety group; Auckland, . wyandottes; Newton, pigeons; Auckland Canary Club, canaries; Waikato game bantams, and any other variety bantams; Hastings, British Indian and Old English game.
