LIVE STOCK SALES.
Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., repart holding their fortnightly stile at Levin this week, whero they 'submitted a heavy yarding of both sheep and cattle. Most of the stock was sold under the' hammer at satisfactory prices. Quotations:—Fat shorn wethers, 15b. to 15g. id.; 2-tooth wethefs, shorn, 10s. 9d.; fat ow.es, 14s. to 14s. 6d.; woolly hoggets, 12s. Cattle: Pat heavyweight bullocks, £11.75. 6(1.; others, £7 17s. 6d.; fat cowe, £7; cows in calf, £3 to £3 9sv; cows in milk, £5 18s. to £7 155.; heifers, £4; cows and calves, to £4.. Messrs. Dalgety'and Company, Ltd.-, report having neld their usual fottni&htly Salo at Eketahuna on Friday. The repoirt states:—We only yarded one pen of sheep, which sold under the hammer, but tlio cattle pens were well filled.. The latter sold at late market rates. "Wo quote:— Sheep: Good, hoggets, 15s. Id. Cattle: Fat cows, £4 10s. to £5; cows and calves, to £4 12s. 6d.; yearling steers, £2 2s. to £2 Bs.; empty oows, £3 35., £3 ss. to £3 10s.; springing heifers, £4 12s. 6d., £5 10s. to £6 65.; yearling Jersey bulb, £3 3s. , Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report:—At LeVin on Friday a largo yarding was offered. . An entry of 460 head of cattlo consisted principally of young cattle and female stock, no grown bullocks being offered. Bidding for 6ome lines dragged somewhat, and prices show, a downward tehdeiiey. Most lilies, hoWdrer, cliauged hands at the undermentioned prices, and very little went out unsold. A good yarding of sheep met with keen competition and every pen waß disposed of under the hammer. Fat ewes, 18s. 4d.; fat wethers, 19s. 7d.; forward ewes, i-is. 7d., 16s. 2d. v and 175.; f.m. ewes and lambs; 19s; 2d.; 4-tooth ewes, 18s. 2d.; hoggets, l£e. 3d.; shorn fat wethers, 15s. sd. to 16si 6d.r shorn fat ewes, 14s. lid.; 2-year steers, £4 7s. 6d. to £4 10s.; rouffh 2-year Bteere, £3 195.; yearling steers, £3 os. 6d. to £3 10s.; weaners, 255. to 365.; Binall weaners, 15s. to 20s. 6d.; weaner lieifere, 325.; yearling dairy heifers» £2 17s. 6d. to £3 55.; 15-month dairy heifers, £3 ss. to £3 10s.; fat cows, £5.125. to £6; forward cows, £4.t0 £4 12s. 6d.: heifers, £5-7s. to £6; heifets in calf, £3 15s. to £4 18s. We also sold a residential property, submitted on . account of the mortgagee, for £975.

(Fcilding branch), reportfor tho weelc ending November 12 aa follows:—At Apiti oil Tuesday oiily one. pen of sheep camo forward. there was a medium yarding of cattle, but bidding was slaelt. Dairy stock, however, sold very well. At Feildiag on Friday we had a, fair entry of sheep, and a good yarding of cattle. Owing to the contifaucd dry weather Drices for both sheep and cattle woro slightly easier. We quote:— Fat and forward woolly ewes,. 165.; mixed hoggets, 14s. 3d.; yearling .steers, £2 35.; cows, £3 55.; forward cows, £3 155.; ligiit fat cows, £4 155.; fat heifers, £6; springing cows, £5, £6 to £7; bulls, £4 ss. te £5.
CATTLE FAIR AT PADTATUA. Messrs. There was a large attendance, buyers being; present from all parts. A large number, to whom tho bulk of the purchasers went, came from tho West Coast.
