WELLINGTON A. A. C.

ANNUAL REPORT. The annual general meeting of members of the Wellington Amateur Athletic Club is to be held next Monday. The committee of the club, in presenting the annual report and balancesheet, state that two evening meetings Were held and wero eminently successful. The club joined forces with the Wellington Centre, N.Z.A.A.A., in arranging a Marathon race and sports meeting on _ November 9 of last year. This was the first Marathon ' race held in tho North Island, and created 'great interest. The Marathon event was won in Australasian record time; by H. T. Thompson,' one of the club members, A sports meeting was held on March 5' in conjunction with the Port Nicholson. A.A.C. A heavy fall of rain just as tho first ovents, were being run Off interfered greatly with: tho attendance, and the meeting was ■ not a success . financially. The club was well represented at the provincial championships and also at the New Zealand championship hold at Auckland. The. following are the holders of tho various cups for the season: Mr. .Bell's cup, A; Evenson. J. F. Wilson, and — Casserley_. (tied); Mr. Duthie's . cup, A. C.. Kitto; Mr. Tancred's cup, no event; Mr. Tripp's cup, J. P. Wilson; Mr.-L. Nathan's cup, — Casserley; Mr. P. Nathan's cup, W. L. Dunn; Mr. L. Blundell's cup, Wellington Collego; Mr. L. Blundell s cup, Terrace School. .

Tlio present position shows balance at the hank ,of £20 3s. t 2d., which must be ;considered very satisfactory, especially iin- t view ; of tho fact, that both meetings in' Which the club took part were Bpoilt by the weather. The amount of outstanding' subscriptions (£lB 155.) is, however; large. The committee regrets having to report the loss to tho club, through removal-from the city, of a most enthusiastic and active memberMr. Rex Bridge. Tho thanks of the club are due' to the following for, contributions to the club funds:—Messrs. L. Blundell, 0. E. Bridge, H. S. Robinson, fi. T. Thompson, and to the gentlemen who have kindly assisted as officials at tho meetings, and to the press, who have done so much to assist the olub.
