SWIMMING.
At the To Aro Uatlis this afternoon tho swimming season will be opened by the .Mayor, Mr. T. M. Wilford. Under' the auspices of tho Wellington Centre, a short programme' of races will bo decided. 'J'lio races will be similar to those on the programmo last year, and includo a 50yds. dash for boys, ancf a 50yds. and a 100 yds. open handicap. The entry sheets show that there will be a fairly large number of competitors.
