MORE SCHOLARSHIPS. Sydney, November 4. Mr. Beeby,. Minister for Education, stated in his recent speech that a very largo increase in the number of bursaries and scholarships, was . contemplated. Ho hoped to throw the university bursaries open to all competitors irrespective of: the sourco .of their earlier education. '
AN EARLY SESSION. Sydnoy, November 4. Tho Government intends to call Parliament together much earlier than is usually done. ... INTEREST ON STOCKS REDUCED. (Rec. November 5, 0.50 a.m.) • Sydney, November 4. The Government will-reduce tho rato of interest on Government stocks from 3J to 3i per centum as from November 1.
