MISSIONS TO SEAMEN.

The Missions to Seamen Institute was crowded last evening, when Mr. and Mrs. Balcombe Brown provided a most enjoyable concert. Mr. James Moore, the missioner, occupied the chair. The following contributed items to the programme:—Pianoforte solo, Mrs. Baillie; song, Mr. Malcolm Galloway; violin solo, Mr. E. Anderson; song, Mr. Balcombe Brown; humorous stories, Dr. Isaacs; song, Mr. Sharpe, whistling solo, Mr. B. Gardiner; song, Mr. Galloway. Mrs. Brown and Miss Gummer played the accompaniments. Several popular choruses were sung by tho audience, and an amusing conundrum competition was won by sailors from ships in port. During a short interval the inissioner delivered an earnest address on the temperance question. Twelve men subsequently took the pledge of total abstinence. Hearty cheers wore given the performers at the conclusion, and light refreshments were dispensed.
