(By Teleeraph.-Press Association.) . Timaru, November 2. ' The Levels County Council ; to-day requested the chairman to see the manager of the Bank'of New Zealand, and ask for a reduction of the interest rate on overdrafts, 5J per cent, being thought too much when others get advances for less. The case against the Tiraaru "Herald" Company for the alleged underpaying of an employee on a permit that Mad expired, and against the employee for accepting lower pay, was dismissed, the Magistrate holding that the union was at fault. It is proposed to build a new picture theatre here. There will then bo two permanent picture shows.
