Hall presented.a.very bright. t and.attractive appqaraiice yesterday after-, noon,' between half-past five and. seven' o'clock, the: occasion being the, eighth; anniversary: festival of / the '.. T.M.G.A.About:' thirty-six,: tables,." most: effectively decorated.-: with -every / kind /of spring flower now iri' ; season, .stretched'down the"; length of the room, and' were laden with .'a . very tempting-looking tea,', while num-: ■bers of;: ladies dressed Hn ■ eighteenth-, century costume (powdered hair, patches;: and everything in: keeping) waited upon' those, seated at the tables.. On thisoccasion they entirely . provided the tables with ; the tea, and spared' no trouble: in ,carrying, out successfully all. the 1 ; arrangements in'connection . with ; the undertaking. Mr 3. F.'Dodson-gave a . very delightful: children's dance, in Blenheim last week, when about ono hundred and fifty children were present.,- They had a delightful time, v and all looked very bright' and' pretty in their dainty white. frocks and sashes and party suits./ The hall had been prettily decorated with ferns, while ropes of-lycopodium stretched from corner to corner of the room arid round the sides of it. Quantities of beautiful spring flowers .decorated the supper tables, upon which was laid a most tempting supper. Miss Elbect supplied the music, while extras were played ,by Mrs. Dodson and Mrs. Corry.. Mrs. Dodson -received her young guests in a graceful black, silk .dress. Her ..little daughter wore a soft white, muslin frock and a pink silk' sash. Among those; who assisted her in the. entertaining of the children wore her. sister, Miss Robinson, Miss R./Dodson, Mr. and' Mrs. E. Wiffen, Miss Marsh, Miss Powell (Havelock), Mr. H. Robinson (Picton), Mr. O'Connor (Spring Creek), Mr. Parr, Mr. F. Robinson, and Mr. E. Robinson. Others who. were present were Mesdames Robinson,- Con-y, Elisor, Marsh, Broughton, F. ! Kelburno Ladies' Bowling Club. .The ICelburjie Ladies' Bowling Club, in conjunction with tho gentlemen's bowling club, opens its season on Saturday next, provided-the weather is'favourable. Those who _ already belong to the club are displaying a great enthusiasm, which augurs well,, for- its success during., the coming season. A game of bowls is an ideal one for women, and is really a delightful one to watch ■ for anyone having a slight knowledge of i the. game". The club extends- a cordial invitation' to all intending ineinbers. It is understood that the ladies of the club will hold their annual "at home" on tho green later on in t-he season. . -.
