(Rec. r October' 4, 10.35 p.m.) London, Ootober 4. ■ In connection with his appeal, cabled on August 30, Mr. Thomas Sedgwick has complained to Mr. John Burns, sident of the Local Government Board, that the Central Unemployed Body has declined to grant the £600 required for passage-money unless they can control the selection of the boys. Mr. Sedgwick considers that such action would excludo provincial lads. On August 30 it was oabljd that Mr. Thomas Sedgwick was appealing for ,£6OO to inaugurate experimental emigration of town lads in accordance with New Zealand's promise of assisted passages for fifty lads. '
