Mr. Lloyd-Georgo, Chancellor of the: Exchequer, addressiug the Carnarvon Women's Liberal Association, justified his recent vote against the granting of woman's suffrage. He declared that Mr. Shaokleton's was an undemocratic Bill. It proposed to give a vote to every woman with property, hut ho pointed out that barely one-tenth of the working women had any. He and Mr. Winston Churchill' (Homo Secretary) had been denounced as traitors to the women's cause because they did not support a measure which the Suffragists of Australia and New Zealand would scornfully, .reject.' He doubted if the women really wanted the franchise. Settlement of the House of Lords' veto questioned the question of Welsh Church disestablishment were ; paramount now; afterwards democratic suffrage wbuld . have his whole-hearted support. '
The political weather, added'. Mr.. Lloyd-George, was" a little uncertain, and he would advise Liberals to carry their macintoshes. ,
