ISLAND BAT STORM-WATER CULVERT. Councillor Fitzgerald objected that this was not a true report of the proceedings of the committee. He was under the impression, which was supported by 'Councillor Carmicbael, that the committee decided to postpone consideration of the matter till the engineer had ascertained whether property-owners would contribute towards the culverting. Councillor Hindmarsh moved an amendment. that the final clause of the report be referred back to the committee in order that something , might be done in regard to the gap between the formed part and the tramway terminus. Finally, as there was a difference of opinion as to what the . committee had decided, the whole report was referred .
