THE ADJUTANT-GENERALSHIP.
A NON-COMMITTAL STATEMENT. In the House of Representatives yesterday, Mr. Wright, M.l'. for Wellington ;iouth, asked the Prime Minister whether it was true, as had been reported, that Captain R. J. S. Seddon, New Zealand Militia (Colonel Tuson's stall officer), was to be appointed to tho position of Adjutant and Quartermaster-General rf Luc New Zealand Forces, vieu Colonel Tusori, who has returned to England, his term of office having expired. In reply, the Prime Minister stated that no further appointment had been made or arranged 'in connection .with the Defence Department other than those which ho hail announced to the House. As regarded the whole scheme of defence, as soou as : the Commandant was appointed, other positions would be filled— ufter, not-before. There had been nothing done in the matter so far at all.
