The "Daily Mail" states that Crippen and Leneve went on July. 9 to Margate, and next day crossed to Boulogne (France), on an excursion steamer, thereby avoiding an ■ examination. They were next seen at a hotel at' Bruges (Belgium), and subsequently in Brussels. .
The captain'and stewards of-, the Montrose are satisfied regarding tho identity of the pair, and, have told the polico by wireless message. It is believed the Laurentio and Montrose are now in communication. Tho Montrose officers are doing their utmost to prevent tho suspicion of the runaways being aroused. They are being watched, as it is feared they might attempt suicide. The passengers have not been informed that the pair have' been,identified. Tho Montrose is two days behind tho Laurentic.
The report of the arrest has not been confirmed.

London, July 20. ' The "Daily Express" says the fugitives were overheard talking of their escape. Both were arrested on. Saturday, aim guarded in separato cabins. Crippcn was deprived, of his revolver and penknife.
- 'The girl Lenovo wept, and offered to make a statement to'tho police.
'Crippen demanded to bo informed of what offence he was charged with. Ho was told, that he. had contravened ,'tho law in representing, that his companion was a boy, and giving a false- name.
Tho "Daily Chronicle" , says Crippen was very leisurely. in his' movements in Belgium. He affected to be in no hurry to sail,, and pretended that he wished to sail in the Montroso on its next voyage on August 31. He arranged'to pay fare in August, but on learning that there was no doable-berth cabin available in August ho decided to go '■ immediately, and airanged to pay extr,a for such accommodation.
s He inquired whether he had the option of disembarking at either, Quebec or Montreal. Tho reply was in the affirmative. .'
"The Times" considers it is probable that Crippen is under restraint as he may have gained an inkling of the situation, owing to: wireless' messages and other activities. '
