The barometer has risen steadily in tho north and fallen in the south, with freshening westerlies in the north, and northerly winds in the south'. Tho weather has boen unsettled and hazy with rain in parts. Present indications aro Tor &'westerly gale in most parts or the country, and rough weather on the West Coast, and in Cook and Foveanx Straits especially, Rain is probable generally from a storm area, which is likely to envelop tho wholo country shortly.
