FAMOUS FILMS.

KINEMATOGRAPH COLLECTIONS FOE. MUSEUMS. Mr. John Fuller, junr., of Messrs. Fuller and Sons (who are so largely interested in tho picture business in Now Zealand), deserves considerable praise for originating a bright idea touching a most important ' matter. Some years ago it was suggested that the 'Government, assisted by private contributions, should find, a place in the Dominion Museum for important phonograph records, such as the speeches of famous men and the songs of great singers, sc that future generations would be ; able to realise the talent such people possessed. It was, and is, an admirable suggestion, but so lar as is known nothing came of it. Now, Mr. Fuller comes forward, with a similar idea regarding the kinematc-gra-ph. Ho is of opinion that "libraries" of selected kineinatograph films should bo established in connection with museums, and has written as follows to Mr. A. Hamilton, director of the Dominion Museum, on the subject:— "With the object of establishing the nucleus of a 'library' of.kinematograph representations of national events, our firm wishes to present unconditionally to eaeh of the museums or controlling authority in the four chief cities of tho Donnnio\ ;v. series of film*, depicting tho funeral of the late King Edward. . . . These pictures have ..naturally excited tho greatest interest throughout the Dominion, and are still being witnessed with sympathetic. interest ,by thousands nightly. In years to como these scenes indicative of the great love and respect in which .Ring Edward the Seventh was held will still, be of keen interest, educative and otherwise, and it should bo a valuable thing to havb) them available as required. Hence our offer to the Dominion Museum of Wellington and to Christeliuroh, Dunedin., and Auckland." When at Home Mr. Fuller wrote to a -London paper making a similar suggestion, hoping that the British Museum would take up the idea of having on kinomatograph record all events of historical importance, but nothing eamo of it. Now tho pictures of the funeral of Edward VII has brought the matter up again, this time,' ho hopes, with the nrospect of something being done.
